The dashboard, screen by screen
Import
Bringing your rooms and your reservations over from another system or a spreadsheet.
If you come from another system, you do not have to type your rooms and reservations in again. This screen always shows what would happen first; only when you confirm does anything change.
Bring over your rooms
- Paste your list under "Your list", or choose a file. One room type per line, separated by semicolons, commas or tabs. The columns: name, number of rooms, maximum guests, standard guests, price per night. Only the first two are required.
- Click "Show me what happens". You see per line whether it will be added or already exists, and which lines could not be read.
- If it is right, click the button below it to add the room types.
The import only creates. A room type that already exists is skipped and never overwritten. A price only goes on a room type that has none yet. Afterwards you fine-tune everything on Rooms and Rates.
Move your reservations over
- Choose a CSV export from your previous system, or paste its contents.
- Click "Dry run". Noren has a guess at your header row. If a column is wrong, put it right; starred fields are needed.
- Read the report: how many are new, how many are skipped and how many have a problem. Problems come first, with the reason.
- Click the button to add the reservations.
What to know:
- The room type has to exist already. An unknown room number is fine: that reservation comes in unassigned.
- A reservation whose reference is already there is skipped.
- Past stays come in as closed. They count in your figures and in your guests' history, and do not touch your availability.
- If no room is free for a stay, that row cannot go in.
- At most twenty thousand rows per file.
Undo
"Undo this import" removes the reservations of that round again. If a payment has since come in on one of them, nothing is undone and you see which row it is.
Bookings from Airbnb or Vrbo
Live bookings from Airbnb or Vrbo can also come in through their calendar; those then keep updating on their own. You set that up under Calendars through iCal.
