Accessibility statement
Version 1.3 · updated 26/09/2026
If this translation differs from the Dutch text, the Dutch text prevails. The Dutch version is the authoritative one.
We want everyone to be able to use this website: with a screen reader, with a keyboard only, with magnification or with reduced motion. This statement says which standard we aim for, what is not yet right and how to let us know.
What this statement covers
The public website: the home page, the pages about the product, the guest registration obligation, pricing, the questions, the page about us, the changelog, the roadmap, contact, the pages about switching, the status page, the legal documents and the pages for signing up and signing in, in Dutch, English and Spanish. The booking module that guests see on an accommodation's website, and the system in which a host works, aim for the same standard but are not covered by this statement.
The standard
Our goal is WCAG 2.2 at level AA. In our own checks the website meets it, with the exceptions listed below.
How we know
With every change to the website, an automated check (axe) runs over all pages, in Dutch, English and Spanish, in the light and the dark mode, with the menu closed and open, in Chromium, Firefox and WebKit. We also check the HTML for validity and measure the size of every button and link. On 26 September 2026 the website was also reviewed: with a keyboard only, at 320 pixels wide and with reduced motion switched on. An assessment by an independent party and a test with a screen reader have not yet taken place.
What is not yet right
- Text that fades in while scrolling (WCAG 1.4.3). Blocks slide gently into view as you scroll. During that short movement the text is not yet at its full colour, so for a moment it has less contrast. If you choose reduced motion in your device settings, there is no movement and the text appears at full colour straight away.
Everything on the website that moves by itself in a loop (the example on the home page, the booking in the tour on the product page and the curtain on the page about us) now has a button to stop it (WCAG 2.2.2). If you choose reduced motion, it stands still, and the same button lets you start it anyway. The points from version 1.0 of this statement (contrast in the screen examples, the link to the content, the menu on a narrow screen, the small links in the footer and the error messages when signing up) had already been resolved. Since version 1.3 the Spanish pages for signing up and signing in are entirely in Spanish, as are the emails that go with them (WCAG 3.1.1); in version 1.2 most of the text there was still in English.
