About
Software for houses, not chains.
Hotel software is built for the big players and then trimmed down for everyone else. Noren starts from the other end: an independent house, a host who does everything, and a day that should start with guests, not with portals.
The name
When the noren is out, the house is open.
A noren is the split curtain in the doorway of a Japanese inn. It carries the name of the house and moves aside for every guest. When the host hangs it outside in the morning, the house is open.
That is how we want to work: with your name on it, and out of the way while you look after your guests.
What we promise, in writing.
- 01
We never hold guest money.
Guests pay you directly through your own payment provider. We never sit in between, so there's nothing to wait for.
- 02
You can always leave.
Cancel any month. Within thirty days you get a full, readable export of bookings, guests, rates and invoices, free.
- 03
Your name, not ours.
Guests see your name: in the booking engine, at the top of their emails and at check-in. Only the sender address of the email and the address of the check-in link are on our domain, norenrooms.com.
- 04
A person answers.
When something breaks you see why on your screen, and then you talk to a human. Not a ticket queue.
- 05
Your data stays in Europe.
Stored in the EU. From the first live house, a backup every night and a test of restoring it. What we may do with guest data is in the data processing agreement you accept at sign-up.
- 06
Made for the host who runs the house.
One system for the desk, the rates and the cleaning, built for the people who do the work, not for a head office.
- 07
Everything in every plan.
Only your number of rooms sets the price. No setup fee, no modules to unlock, no annual contract required.
- 08
Nothing moves without you.
Noren does the routine work at night. Anything that involves money or a decision about a guest waits for your yes.
Recently changed
All changesRedo after undo
On Attention, a line you undid now has "Redo". It carries out the same action again, with today's checks: is the room still free, is the booking still there, are the nights still for sale. If it is no longer possible, nothing changes and one sentence says why. If it works, you can undo it again. Merging guests can be redone up to thirty days after the merge.
Early check-in and late check-out for sale
Under Rates you set time slots with a price: early check-in from a time, late check-out until a time. If a guest gives a time outside your usual times during online check-in, they are offered the matching time slot, but only if it is possible: early only in a room that was empty the night before, late only if housekeeping can still get the room ready for the next guest.
Calm updates, and your booking engine version in your own hands
When something changes on a screen, its header says "New", even before the day it changes. One click shows what will be different; after that it is gone, on your phone too. If an update means you sign in once more, that shows above every screen at least a day ahead.
Still wondering?
It's all written down.
