The dashboard, screen by screen
Everything
Every Noren module in one place, including the ones that are off, and the order of the bar on the left.
Noren is made of modules: Calendar, Housekeeping, Extras, Campaigns and more. Here you see all of them, including the ones you do not use, and switch them on or off. At the top you arrange the bar on the left.
Switching modules on and off
For each module you see its name, where it sits in the menu, and whether it is "On" or "Off". "Switch on" and "Switch off" change it.
- Switching off hides the module from the menu. It deletes nothing: your data stays and your figures stay right. The name remains a link here, so you can always reach it.
- If you open a screen of a module that is off, for example through an old link, you see your data with a line at the top and a button to switch it back on.
- Some modules need another one; that is shown next to it. Switching on then switches that one on too.
- Today, Calendar, Bookings, Rooms, Rates and the settings show "Always on". You cannot switch those off.
- When something happens at your property that makes a module useful, such as a first booking or a second property, Noren asks once whether you want to switch it on. "No, stop asking" is a real answer: it will not ask again.
Only people who may set up the property can switch modules, because it changes everyone's menu.
The bar on the left
Under "The bar on the left" you put the screens within each group in the order you want, with "Up" and "Down". The groups themselves are fixed.
- "Leave out" removes a screen from the bar; "Put back" returns it. A module you leave out stays on and can be found with Search (Cmd-K or Ctrl-K).
- "Save" keeps the layout for yourself. Everyone may arrange their own bar.
- "Save for everyone" makes it the layout for everyone without a layout of their own. Only people who may set up the property can do this.
- "Back to the default" restores the usual order.
Good to know
Leaving out and switching off are two different things. Leaving out only affects your bar. Switching off applies to the whole property and also removes the module from the More menu on your phone.
