The dashboard, screen by screen
Cancel subscription
Cancelling your Noren subscription with one month's notice, taking your data with you and withdrawing the cancellation.
On this screen you cancel your Noren subscription. You choose nothing except a reason if you like, and you see the end date before you press the button.
You get here through "Cancel subscription" under "Your subscription" on Settings. Only people who may manage billing can cancel.
When it stops
- Monthly subscription: one month after today. Cancel on 31 January and it runs until and including 28 February.
- Yearly contract: until the end of the contract year, if at least a month is left; otherwise until the end of the year after.
- Trial: it stops after the last trial day and you pay nothing.
Until and including the end date everything works as usual.
A reminder with a yearly contract. Seven weeks before the last day on which you can still cancel by the end of the contract year, you get an email: until when your year runs, at which price it renews after that, and the last day to cancel, with a button to this screen. Until that day the same sentence is at the top of Today and Settings, with the link "Cancel". You get it once a year; not with a monthly subscription, and not if you already cancelled or switch to monthly from the end of the year.
After the end date
- We send no more invoices and collect nothing. Your API keys and webhooks are switched off, except a key with only the right to export (see Own integrations).
- Thirty days after the end date the retrieval period ends. After that we delete your data: your property, rooms, prices, bookings, guests, messages and your account. What the law requires us to keep stays: our invoices to you, the guest registration while your country's period runs, and the agreements you gave.
- Your booking engine takes no new bookings and your property is no longer open. On your booking page a guest sees "No new bookings".
- Bookings you already have stay as they are and stay visible. Your guest can still open their stay page and check in online.
- The dashboard is read-only: you can still look at everything, but change nothing. A bar at the top says so, with the link "Download your data".
How to cancel
- Optionally pick a reason under "Why are you cancelling? You may skip this". "I'd rather not say" is fine too.
- Click the Cancel as of button with the end date on it.
The confirmation then appears in the same place, with the links "Everything in one file (JSON)" and "Per part as CSV". You also get an email. Under "Your subscription" the label "Cancelled" appears with the end date.
Taking your data with you
On Settings, under "Take your data with you", you download everything: bookings, guests, bills, payments, prices and invoices. You can do that at any time, also during the notice period and until thirty days after the end date, free of charge. Guest data is readable in it, including document numbers; keep the file as you keep your guest register.
Changed your mind?
Until and including the end date you withdraw the cancellation with "Withdraw cancellation" on Settings. Your subscription then simply continues.
Good to know
- There is no penalty. The last invoice only charges the days until and including the end date; "Explanation" next to that invoice on Settings shows how many days. See also Subscription.
- If your property is just closed for a while, the pause may be enough: you pay 30% of the rate and everything stays in place. The screen points you there with "Go to the pause".
- If we announced a price increase and you cancel before the effective date, you never pay the new price, not even during your notice period.
