Money and invoices
Subscription
Your Noren plan, your price, the trial, the direct debit mandate, our invoices and cancelling.
Your subscription is what your property costs at Noren. It is all on Settings.
Your plan
The plan follows from the number of rooms: Starter up to 5 rooms, Standard up to 15, Plus up to 30. Above thirty rooms we make an arrangement. Under "Your subscription" you see the plan, the rooms and the amount per month or per year, excluding VAT.
On top of that we charge a small percentage on direct bookings that come in through your payment provider, afterwards. We charge nothing on city tax, cancelled bookings or bookings through an outside channel. The card What Noren costs you this month on Settings adds up the running amount.
Monthly or yearly
You pay monthly, or yearly: then you get twelve months for the price of ten, on one invoice in advance. What that is for your plan per year and per month is on the pricing page and when you sign up. You choose when you sign up, and later on Settings under "Your subscription":
- If you pay monthly, the card says what a year costs and from which day it would apply. With "Pay yearly" you switch from your next invoice; the month you already paid simply runs out.
- If you pay yearly, "Pay monthly" switches you from the end of your contract year. If that end is less than a month away, from the end of the year after, just like cancelling. A paid year is not refunded.
- During the trial, or before your first invoice, your choice applies straight away.
Until the day of the switch the card says when it takes effect, with "Withdraw switch". After a cancellation you cannot switch; withdraw the cancellation first.
On a yearly contract the card What Noren costs you this month counts the share of one month of your yearly price. The platform fee comes afterwards, on the next yearly invoice. An introduction discount counts per month: a discount on your first two invoices is two months of discount on a yearly invoice.
Your price
Your price is fixed when you sign up; if our price list changes, your price stays. If your price does go up, we tell you at least sixty days in advance, by email and at the top of Settings and Today. If you cancel before the effective date, you never pay the new price. Yearly indexation is separate. It takes effect on 1 January; if you pay yearly, the new amount goes on your next yearly invoice and never halfway through a year you already paid.
The trial
A new account starts with a trial, fourteen days by default, during which you pay nothing. With a mandate at the end, the subscription starts. Without one no invoice comes and your account stays, but your property does not open for bookings.
The mandate
First save your "Billing details": the mandate is in that name. With "Give the mandate" you allow the payment provider to collect the subscription. Until it confirms, the card says "Not finished", then "Valid". Without a mandate you cannot publish.
Completing a mandate with a real payment provider is not available yet. Until then it is a practice run and nothing is collected.
VAT and invoices
Once the European check confirms your "VAT number", an invoice to another EU country says reverse charge. We check the number again every ninety days. See VAT.
Every period an invoice comes, monthly or once a year in advance, as a PDF under "Invoices" and by email. "Explanation" shows line by line where each amount comes from, and which bookings the platform fee is on. A sent invoice never changes again: a correction comes as a "Credit note".
Cancelling and pausing
Your subscription renews automatically by a month. You can cancel monthly, with one month's notice and no penalty. If you pay yearly, it renews by a year and you cancel with effect from the end of the contract year, with one month's notice. You do it yourself with "Cancel subscription" on Settings, and until the end date you can withdraw it. After the end date your booking engine takes no new bookings and your property is no longer open; existing bookings stay. You can still read the dashboard and download your data. See Cancel subscription.
If your property is closed for a while, look at "Paused state" on Settings. You pay less, your data keeps working, and channel connections, automatic messages and payments are off. "Open it again" works straight away.
