Getting started
Welcome
The first screen after signing up, and the eight steps in which you set up your property.
After signing up you land on Welcome. The screen shows the eight steps in which you set up your property, with an estimate of how many minutes are left, and takes you to step 1. It creates nothing itself: whatever you fill in goes straight onto the screen where it belongs. Once your property is open, Welcome sends you on to Today.
The eight steps
| Step | Screen | Keeps your property shut |
|---|---|---|
| 1. Address and times | Your property | no |
| 2. Room types | Rooms | yes |
| 3. Prices | Rates | yes |
| 4. Cancellation policy | Rates | yes |
| 5. Extras | Extras | no |
| 6. Payment provider | Settings | yes |
| 7. Direct debit mandate | Settings | yes |
| 8. Channels | Channels | no |
A finished step gets a tick, and the minutes only count what is still open. For prices, one base price per room type is enough, for the next ninety nights. Seasons and rules can come later.
The buttons
- "Start with step 1": always step 1, also when you come back halfway.
- "I already have my rooms in a file": to Import, to bring your rooms in from a file.
On the way
While your property is shut, a narrow bar at the top of every screen shows the step you are on, for example step 3 of 8 · prices, with arrows to the previous and the next step. If the step keeps your property shut, it says "This keeps your house shut", with a link to Publishing.
On the screen of a step, the top says what needs doing and the bottom has "Back", "Skip" and "Next".
- "Next" first saves what you filled in and then moves on. If something is missing, the screen says what.
- "Skip" only appears on a step that does not keep your property shut.
- The rest of the screen is folded away under "The rest of this screen".
- After the last step, "Next: publishing" takes you to Publishing.
You can stop at any time and carry on later. The bar disappears once your property is open.
Good to know
Real payments are not available yet. Until then steps 6 and 7 are practice: you connect a simulated payment provider and give a simulated mandate, and no money changes hands. See Payment provider.
