Rates
The base rate per room type, derived rates, pricing rules, seasons, cancellation, child prices, bounds and the upgrade at check-in.
On Rates you set the prices of your property. To give one period or one night a different price, use the Calendar.
Base rate
Each room type shows today's base rate. Change the amount and you immediately see what the derived rates become. "Save" sets every night from today to the new price. A price you set by hand on a night in the calendar stays put.
Derived rates
A derived rate follows the base rate, a percentage or a fixed amount below or above it: for example a rate without free cancellation that is 10% cheaper. "Add derived plan" creates one. For each rate you choose a name in three languages (the guest sees it in the booking engine), the cancellation policy and the "Payment policy". "Take off the offer" takes the rate off sale; existing bookings stay.
Included in the price
Every rate, the base rate too, has an "Included" button. That is where you set what the price includes besides the room: breakfast, a dinner, a spa treatment, parking, a transfer. An item adds nothing to the price; it divides it. If a night costs € 200 with breakfast for two at € 12.50 per person, the bill shows € 175 for the room and € 25 for breakfast, each with its own VAT. The guest pays the same.
- "Breakfast included": tick it, choose under "Charged per" how breakfast is charged (usually per person per night) and fill in the "Amount". Without an amount, breakfast stays in the room price, as it was.
- "Add an item": for anything else. Give it a name in three languages (the guest reads it on the bill), choose the "Type of service" (food, drinks, transport, parking, spa and wellness or other; it sets the VAT), how it is charged, and an amount. With "percentage of the nightly price" it is a share of the price of each night.
- "On the invoice": "Each item separately" or "Together as a package". Together becomes one line per VAT rate; the VAT is the same either way.
If the items cost more than the room on a night, the rate cannot be booked for those nights. Your average daily rate and your revenue per available room count only the room; see Performance.
As long as no real payment provider is attached, no money changes hands. See Payment provider.
Loose nights
"Minimum stay may relax by itself for loose nights" is on by default and applies to the base rate and the rates derived from it. It only works if "Restrictions" is set to "Do it" under Attention. Switch it off and Noren always asks you.
Pricing rules
A pricing rule changes the price when something applies: only a few rooms left, high occupancy, few days until arrival, or certain days of the week. One condition per rule; for two, make two rules. If two rules apply on the same night, the highest "Priority" wins. Next to each rule you see how often it applied over the last 30 days.
Seasons
A season shifts the base rate for a period, by a percentage or a fixed amount. The colour is only for the calendar. Removing a season puts the prices back the way they were without it. With the button to copy the previous year, you shift that year's seasons forward by a year. If two seasons overlap, the highest precedence wins.
Cancellation policy
Per room type you set, for the base rate, how many days before arrival a guest can cancel free of charge, what share of the total they pay after that, and under "Payment policy" what they pay when booking: everything, or with "Deposit" a percentage (see Deposit). "Save policy" saves all room types at once.
Children and age groups
Up to four groups besides adults, such as baby, child and teen. For each group you choose what a child pays for the stay and for extras priced per person: nothing, a fixed amount or a percentage. A channel that has no child prices is listed with a warning.
Bounds and order
A bound keeps the price of a room type within a floor and a ceiling for a period, including a price you type in yourself. Once you fill in a floor, "Below the floor" lets you choose what happens to a lower price: "Raise to the floor" sells the night at the floor, "Do not sell" keeps it closed on your own booking engine until the price is above the floor again. Your channels get such a night at the floor. The mode says what pricing rules may do: "Free", "Frozen", "Up only" or "Down only". The room type order makes sure a cheaper type never ends up above a more expensive one.
Early check-in and late check-out
Under "Early check-in and late check-out" you sell a time slot outside your usual times. With "Add a time slot" you set a time and a price: for early check-in from that time, for late check-out until that time, for example from 12:00 for 15 euros and from 10:00 for 30 euros. At most four of each. "At most per day" is what housekeeping can handle on top of the usual work, early and late together; per room type you set a number of your own, 0 is never in that type. Under "When a guest buys" you choose "Ask me first", "Confirm straight away" or "Do not sell"; the same choice is under Early and late on Attention. Click "Save time slots".
A guest who gives a time outside your usual times during online check-in gets the matching time slot, if it is possible: early only in a room that was empty the night before, late only if housekeeping can still get the room ready for the next guest. What they buy is on Today in the day flow and on the cleaning list, also while you still have to confirm it, and goes on their bill once confirmed (paid on arrival). VAT is the accommodation rate on the day of delivery: the arrival day for early, the departure day for late. A door code or lock is not linked to it yet; that is not available yet.
Upgrade at check-in
With more than one room type, "Upgrade at check-in" is at the bottom: the one offer a guest gets after checking in online. They see it on the check-in screen and on their stay page. They are only offered a type with a higher "Step"; without steps, price decides. The amount is the difference from your rates. With a "Floor per night" a discount comes off as that type is expected to stay emptier, never below the floor. Below that you choose the threshold for a discount, under "Offer from" how many days before arrival the offer appears (two days before by default, up to and including the arrival day), the number per day and the number of nights. At the bottom, each offer says why it had that price.
