Spain and other countries
Which rules Noren applies per country today: VAT, tourist tax, guest registration, check-in and Verifactu.
Which rules apply to your property follows from the "Country" on "Your property". It decides the VAT, the tourist tax, what check-in asks, whether Spanish guest registration and Verifactu apply, and whether Noren may issue invoices.
Spain
VAT
In Spain, Noren charges 10% on the stay and 21% on extras. Every line on the bill carries its own rate. More in VAT.
Tourist tax
On "Your property", choose your region under "Tourist tax". The rate, the exemption and the maximum number of nights come from the regional rules; you do not set them yourself.
| Region | Per person per night | Exempt | At most |
|---|---|---|---|
| Andalusia | no tax | ||
| Catalonia | €2.00 | under 16 | 7 nights |
| Balearic Islands | €2.00 | under 16 | |
| Valencia | €1.50 | under 16 | 7 nights |
If your municipality adds something on top, fill it in under "Municipal surcharge per person per night". The tax appears as its own line in the booking engine and on the bill. On "Figures", "Tourist tax this quarter" shows what you remit for this quarter.
Guest registration
Noren files the reservation and the guests with SES.HOSPEDAJES. That is real as soon as you fill in the web service details on SES.HOSPEDAJES; until then it goes through a practice service and you file yourself. See Guest registration in Spain.
Invoices
Noren issues no invoices for a property in Spain until Verifactu works. See Verifactu.
Other countries
A property outside Spain does not see the Spanish parts.
- VAT: Noren also knows the rates for the Netherlands, Portugal, France and Germany. For another country the booking engine gives no price yet and tells the guest; we are notified and add the rate.
- Tourist tax: the list only shows the regions of your own country. Outside Spain that is only No tourist tax; a municipal surcharge is still possible.
- Guest registration and Verifactu: they are not on "Integrations" and Noren files nothing. If your country requires a report, you arrange it yourself.
- Check-in: only first and last name are required, with no step for the document. "Guests" shows who has checked in.
- Invoices: Portugal, Italy and France each have their own requirement for invoicing software. Noren issues no invoices there yet.
- Italy: the law requires you to see every guest live before they get the access code, on arrival or by video call. You record it in the booking panel with "Record identification"; see Bookings. Noren does not file with Alloggiati Web yet: you arrange that yourself.
If you have properties in more than one country, each follows its own country. "Guests" and "Integrations" show the Spanish parts as soon as one property is in Spain.
Good to know
If a rate is wrong for your property, let us know. You cannot change it yourself, because a wrong rate comes back on every bill.
